About
Elina Pasok is an Estonian-born London-based multidisciplinary artist working across painting, photography, moving image and sculptural objects. Her practice explores recurring structures across biological systems and landscapes, and the ways these patterns become metaphors for resilience, connection and transformation.
Her recent work moves between the microscopic and the environmental: cells resemble coral reefs, branching trees become vascular systems, and protective membranes become psychological boundaries. Alongside painting, she creates participatory objects and ritual artefacts concerned with desire, belief and the meanings people invest in physical things.
Pasok holds an MA in Fashion Photography from London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London. Her work has been exhibited in the UK and internationally.

Artist Statement
I keep returning to the same shapes.
Tree branches resemble blood vessels. Coral structures begin to look like neurons. Roots, synapses and capillaries repeat versions of the same architecture at radically different scales.
I’m fascinated by these visual rhymes because they make the boundary between the human body and the landscape feel less certain. A cell can become a world. A forest can begin to resemble an organism.
My interest in these hidden systems began in childhood in Estonia, exploring the cytology laboratory where my grandmother worked. I remember the smell of antiseptic, the click of the microscope and stained cells appearing in intense blues, cyans and magentas. Years later, experiences of illness made those invisible systems feel less abstract. The body became something simultaneously protective, intelligent, vulnerable and capable of turning against itself.
Painting allows me to move freely between these scales. I use intense colour, branching structures and recurring biological forms to imagine systems that are under pressure but still capable of adaptation and repair.
Increasingly, this investigation has moved beyond the canvas. Through sculptural objects, ritual and participatory work, I’m interested in the invisible systems we construct around ourselves too: belief, desire, memory and the meanings we give to objects.
Across the work, I return to optimism - not as reassurance, but as an active position. A way of looking closely at vulnerability without surrendering the possibility of regeneration.
